Barnacles!

Taking from our little bottom of the sea friend, Mr. Spongebob Squarepants, I have decided to use this word to let loose my frustration on society - just those freaking idiots that can not learn how to use a turning lane.

I mean come on! What is the point of having the turning lane if people don’t plan to use it to turn? There is one location this happens at a lot as I am driving and one day someone is gonna get their ass hit.

I drive the highway in the AM into my office and the off ramp I use goes directly into the road to continue driving - there is no stop or yield. The downfall of this is that there are several locations right off the highway this road services with a turning lane for drivers to move into. Do you think they actually use it? Heck no!

This morning, on my way in, another smart driver that I am following goes on the off ramp, follows it around and then I would say at least a half mile after this conversion decided to stop in the driving lane and then proceeds into the turning lane to turn. What is up with that? Do drivers like this understand what a turning lane is for?

If you plan to move into the turning lane, use your signal, let others know this is happening, then move into the lane, slowing down or stopping to make your turn. DON’T STOP IN THE DRIVING LANE! Um, why? Well, it is called an ACCIDENT!

Is It Tuesday Yet?

I have Monday Syndrome.

Monday’s have never been my day. With the day job I still have, I have to have sales / budget reports to our account customer no later than 9 AM on Mondays, so that means I work about six hours on Sunday to get them done. Those are a long six hours, trust me!

So, I don’t take time from the kiddos on Sunday, I wait until they are in bed - and the fifty times they get out only to forget what they wanted - to start working on them. On a good Sunday night, I can get them all done by 2 AM Monday - 2 AM is good. The down fall is I have to be up by 7:30 AM to get updates to finalize one of the reports to send out.

This is just summer @ 7:30. Forget when school starts back up. Up no later than 6 AM. Trying to get kids motivated when you’re not. Not the greatest of mornings does that make! Just the thought gives me the willy shivers. YUCK!

See the other part to it all is after getting the 7:30 AM updates done, I am so out of routine. Every other day - wake up, shower, kids, breakfast, blah, blah, blah. Clockwork. Mondays are late mornings, never get into the office until 10 or 11 AM, and I’m out of it.

I don’t like Mondays. The day just throws me off completely! Skip to Tuesday because I can start like clockwork.

the black hole named f*ck this

Sorry, if you are offended by the title, but that is what I have said about fifty times already. You’ll understand.

I must have been given a life of doom in this life from something I did in a previous one. Can’t think of what that might be, but it must have been BAD! I just can’t figure out what I have done to be the idiot having to deal with all the shit this week.

Last week we successfully got through the first week of braces with Mr. C and also started his new training program, Learning RX, to help get him over some hurdles that he suffered in school. I want him to have a better start to the new school year coming up. So, all is good there.

Now, last week ended ok for me. I went to the Doctor on Thursday to talk about my struggle with not losing any weight and now I am on an appetite suppressant, Phentermine. So far, it works. I am never hungry it seems like. No jitters or weird anything yet. Doc wanted some blood work done. OK. Got that done on Friday.

Well, Monday, I received a phone call that explained that my thyroid is under-active - duh! - so I am now on a thyroid medication, but I also found out that I have Type 2 Diabetes - which is due to me basically being overweight and my body being insulin-resistant. So, I now take a pill that makes my body actually use the insulin it has. My week didn’t start off great.

Now, right now actually, as I write this post I am on the phone with ticket agents because I have tried to purchase plain tickets to go home in September. Well, I tried on-line and I kept being told that my address did not match my card. Bull!

Like the good little calm girl I am, I called my bank, verified with them my correct address and made sure that is what was on the account. It is. Again, I tried again. Still on-line, telling me it was gonna be a no-go! Fine. Forget it.

I called the airline - after forever talking this and that - I had tickets for us to fly home. One catch - not all of the tickets were authorized. My daughter’s ticket did not authorize. Yes, I did confirm the money was in there before purchasing. Time to call the bank, again!

On the phone with the bank, going though all of the authorizations for the airline, three did go through, but apparently so did ten others. WTF? Yes, a total of 13 authorizations went through on my account for ticket purchases. No freaking way!

Now, leads me to my current call - on hold - with the airline. I have to figure out what they did and get it fixed.

Got a headache, I’m pissed, irritated, and my level of niceness has gone to ZERO. The next person that apologizes to me from the airline or my bank, is gonna get an earful!!

The Halls of justice

MOVE FREAKING SLOW!

So, yesterday was my ‘must appear’ for my speeding ticket last month. I was there at 7:20 AM, after already going to two other courts to find out both were wrong. I sat on a hard bench, got treated like a five year old, “Um, yes officer, I do know how to turn off my cell phone.” Then patiently waited, and waited, and waited some more.

Finally after hearing assault charges, a few DWI’s and someone charged with DWI, DUI, possession of controlled substances, and a few other charges I couldn’t make out, it was my turn - two and a half hours later.

So, I walked up to the judge, verified my name and address, he asked to see my ticket, blah, blah, blah!

Judge: “So, you were going 88 in a 70?”

Me: “Yes your Honor.”

Judge: “Why were you going so fast?”

Me: “I was trying to go around a semi.”

Judge: “Better to be behind a semi then in front, isn’t it?”

Me: “Well, your Honor, it was throwing rocks at my car.”

Judge: “Better to have rocks thrown at your car then end up with a speeding ticket or possibly an accident?”

Me: “Well sir, not when you have a mustang.”

With that remark, he looked at me, not a pleased look, and gave me a $100 fine, $80 is fees, and I have to go through a mandatory defensive driving course. OK, so not bad. I could have done without the defensive driving course, but oh well.

You know, I am still wondering that if I was doing 88 and still had not passed the semi - WTF speed was the semi going? How come my ass got pulled over and not him? I should trade in my car for one not so noticeable maybe?

weeks mushed together

Well, if you tried to reach the blog over the past few days, we were down due to a server transfer. Then today, thanks to Ryan finding all of my posts for me, I re-posted the last two weeks posts - lost them - during transition. So, that means all of the comments were bye-bye too. At least we have the posts. So if you want to re-comment, please by all means, go ahead!

Also, I had another post ready to go up today, but it’s saved on my laptop at home and I don’t want to re-type trying to figure out what I had originally, so I will post once I get home.

So, it has been a Monday! Don’t ou just wish you could have a Tuesday or Wednesday on Monday?

Today, kiddos are at the dentist, Mr C’s last cleaning before the braces are put on tomorrow. He also has his first training session at LearningRX today after the dentist. I will fill you in on that tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I will fill you in on my training session. Wednesday, I will fill you in on how braces go tomorrow. Plus Wednesday is my day in court for my speeding ticket. Guilty and gonna plead that way. I’m taking the increase and points and just moving on.

WOW, Thursday and Friday will seem tame to you all after all my posts these next few days. You know what, that is fine with me! I need a few days of quiet around here

So, I will get my other post up later and everyone have a great second half of the day!

Under fire, stressed, and daughter wants to run away

OK, it was long and drawn out. Probably didn’t need a title that long, but you get the picture. I’m exhausted this week! And, the only thing I have to show for my hard work, stupid reports that will get written on in the morning.

My week started out with my daughter wanting to run away. Leave. She was mad at me for disciplining her for yelling at me. She was sent to her room and the next thing I know, she has her backpack packed and is on the move.

Miss K is very independent and trust me, had I not gone outside after a few minutes of waiting for the outcome, she would have been gone for good!

So I let her go. Waited about 3 minutes and then went outside and had a little talk with my sunshine. I offered to give her a ride to the stop sign. We got in the car and off we went. Once we got to the stop sign, I asked, “Would you like something to eat before you go?”

“Can I have a hot fudge sundae?” she asked. That was that. Off I drove to get a sundae.

Once she had the sundae, all thoughts of leaving were gone. We were good to go after that! Can you imagine a 7 year old walking down the street, running away? The neighbors thought it was a hoot!

So, the crisis averted at home left with me a ton of stress at work.

I am preparing to gear up for a new season and the reports! OMFG! It is crazy some of the stuff they ask for. It makes NO sense, but I don’t tell them that - even though that is my job - to tell them exactly that! The last time I told them though, I got a not-to-nice response. Whatever!

So, all week I have been pulling together graphs and charts. Working extremely late at home. No time for me. I am sure I squeezed in a shower somewhere. Oh, crap, I think I forgot to eat. Oops, need to get that freaking PowerPoint done! UGH. What is sunlight again?

Thankfully it will only last for a while and then it will be calm for a bit - then the freaking storm will hit with a vengeance! But I will take it and deal. I always do. I am in desperate need of a vacation! Vacation fund - coming soon.

Once I am done with dinner, kids, and work, I have been hitting the sack. So, that is why it has been quiet here - cause I have been loud at other places this week. Next week should be a bit more calmer… but my stress at work won’t be over for a few more weeks. I will of course fill you all in.

Time to eat something. I’m starving!
