Gimme. I want now. Gotta have!
A smartphone that is!
Talk has been flowing throughout various social networks concerning smart phones. The new. The hottest. The now. You know… the one that everyone wants. The talk is still iPhone 3G, but chatter around town is slowly moving towards a few new hotties on the block, one being T-Mobile’s G1 with Google. She is beautiful, sleek, has awesome curves, and what could be better than the full keyboard - oh, yea, Google is all over the G1.
Unfortunately, I don’t have have the T-Mobile G1, so I can’t really share much more than what is on the website or what has been shared by those they are lucky enough to have captured one of these beauties. Why do I write about her? I WANT ONE! OK, there is my shameless GIMME. I WANT ONE! I want one for a few simple reasons - I need the full keyboard for quick notes to myself when I am comp shopping and I like that Google is easy-to-use. Like many of us out there, I’m a busy, full-time working mom and I want, I need - easy!
What sucks for me about the T-Mobile G1? Well, that it is on T-Mobile of course. I can’t say from experience if the T-Mobile network sucks, but I’m not on the T-Mobile network, so right now unless I want to pay out for the fees to get out from under my current contract, the awesome G1 will not be mine. Oh well. Bye-bye to a new hottie on the block.
What? Another hot one is making waves? Sleek, beautiful, a little iPhone mystery? A storm is a brewing over at Blackberry and the waves are rolling in! Commercials very reminiscent of when iPhone was launching, the Blackberry Storm was cloaked. Every time we were about to see her face, poof, the commercial was done. Now she in unveiled and showing her pretty little face all over at Blackberry.com.
Her look, can you say iPhone? Trying to gain users from the other network, BlackBerry Storm is the phone to acquire if you are on the Verizon network. Again, I do not have the Storm and no Verizon here for me, but she definitely gives you the vibe of the iPhone and would definitely be a great alternative. I would be drowning in the Storm if I had Verizon! My only drawback - no full keyboard like G1. So far that keyboard is hands-down what I need.
No T-Mobile. No Verizon. That leaves me with AT&T. That is my network and I can leave for greener pastures, or the phones of my choice if I want to pay fees out of places where money is NOT made. For now I will stay until my time is up and the two choices at the top of my list - iPhone 3G of course and the BlackBerry Bold. There is so much surrounding iPhone 3G - positive and negative. I have learned you either love it or you hate it. Not many people find a middle ground when it comes to iPhone. I really would LOVE an iPhone, at least to give it the old college try, but I’m not paying the price for a try.
BlackBerry, well, it’s BlackBerry. I mean there is the good and bad like any, but it seems to stand the test of time. Plus, I like the Bold. It has a stylish look. It’s not a full face like the other 3 phones mentioned here, but at least it has a keyboard that I can manipulate easily and it will function the way I need a busy mom’s phone to handle. Expensive, yes, but it will be a phone that I will use for more that a college try, so it should more than pay for itself with the hell I plan to put it through.

Good luck with getting your dream phone. I’m at the, ‘just lucky I have a phone stage’. We have our service with Sprint. Of course they design these phones to last for about 1 year and we end up signing a 2 year contract so what happens next? Well, I’m sure you know. We either deal with a crappy phone for a year or get a new one and end up under another 2 year contract. I will just have to drool over that beautiful Blackberry and wonder what it could/would be like if I can ever get my hands on that hot little number.
