Premier jewelry party
A friend of mine had a jewelry party a few weeks ago and the nice friend that I am, attended, plus I needed a night away from the kiddos. Anyway, I had an OK time looking at jewelry, chatting it up with other moms, and of course wining some free jewelry. Then I went and did something I shouldn’t have done - I signed up to have a party!
I know, I know, I should kick myself for doing it, but what’s done is done. I’m not going to cancel, so I will trudge along. So in May, I will be hosting a party for jewelry; a thing I said I would never do! I hate the whole idea; inviting people to it, cleaning up for it, trying to figure out what kind of foods to serve. UGH!
I’m just not a party person - home parties like this I mean :). I don’t like when people feel obligated to buy something because they showed up. I hate when people show up to have a good time and would like to buy something, but can’t because they can’t afford it. You know, all the same things that happen at all the other home-type parties.
So, I look at the bright side of it, if enough people show up, I get money off - plus free jewelry. Having the party gives me a reason to have people over and have adult beverages. Now that I am thinking about all the people that I plan to invite, all of them are brunettes. Nothing better then a room full of dark haired beauties
- OK, dark haired 30-somethings that are getting together for a night without kids!
So, I will look at the bright-side, hope to have fun and look forward to everyone else having fun, or at least look like they are. In the event that anyone gets a bit over-done, I will also have some great stories to tell for “just in case” timing too!
Wish me luck!
