My 11 year old hurt his hand yesterday at school playing football.  Thankfully not broken, but badly sprained.  His major disappointment with it, no big contraption covering his hand.  All we have to do for a week - tape three fingers together.

Now the real test, can he still play his trumpet?

I’m kind of hoping no.  OK, I need a break, just a little one, from the trumpet torture.  I know he has only been playing for less than a month, so he still has no clue, but it can be so annoying.

No, I do not hate his playing, I love it.  Happy he is learning something new and fun, but every parent needs a break once in a blue moon.  I’m sure with a sprain his hand will heal quickly, so he will be back at it within a week most likely.
