My daughter has braces and I was a little taken aback when she came home with the green bands around her brackets. I thought when I had braces we used to avoid having green stuff in our teeth. Funny story, I had braces and felt like it was horrible that I had to have them. My best friend didn't have braces but felt left out. As soon as she was grown up and could afford it she got braces and told me how horrible it was for her to not be one of the kids to have braces in our youth. I guess the grass is always greener.
