What the heck is that?
Honestly, what the heck is coming out of her freaking ear? Miss K has been sick for a week now. Starting with swimmer’s ear, turned into an ear infection, then this past weekend bleeding from her ear. Rushed her to the Doctor - thankfully not a ruptured ear drum, but abrasions to her ear canal from the infection.
From this drop to that drop, to cotton in her ear, to an ear cover, to covering pillows at night time, a couple shots of acetaminophen now, to a couple of shots of ibuprofen later, you would think she has some sort of infectious disease that mankind has never seen before! When will the insanity STOP?
And Cranky? Whew! She might be 7, but she is all full of fire when she is sick. I am about ready to lock myself in the bathroom and take a shot of something for mom. This is one of those moments that a parent longs for the “cure all pill”. I know one will never be invented simply because scientist will be out of work, oh, but ‘what if’?
“What if” the cure all pill existed:
- We could take a bath instead of a shower
- We could pull up our pants before darting out of the bathroom
- Heck, we could use the bathroom alone without locking
- We would only do 1 load of laundry instead of 10 with sick-virus
- We could sleep for more than an hour at a time
- We could go a whole 5 minutes without being called for
- We could go a whole 3 minutes without whining
- We wouldn’t sweat to death from a child laying on top of us
- We wouldn’t have to wipe snot away
- We wouldn’t have to clean gunk from ears
- We wouldn’t have a throw up bucket by the sofa
- We wouldn’t find snotty tissues from last weeks cold
OK, the list could go on and on and on! But, in some weird way, these are the things that make parenthood all the more better!
Time to go take care of my sick one.

I hope she feels better soon and that you don’t catch it. Nothing worse than a sick kid. Hugs.
