WHEW! I’m exhausted. In general, just not from training. I have caught myself almost dozing off sitting at my desk today. Thankfully, I’m here alone, so when my head falls against my desk, I will be the only one to hear the painful shriek.
Training was uneventful, but without having trained all last week, except for Saturday, my body felt every movement and every pound it lifted. Mostly free weights today. Leg curls, arm curls, you know the drill. I started off jump roping and then moved into my lunges. Two of my favorite things!
All arms and legs today, so I will most likely work on some abs at home. I have really felt like I am neglecting my abs and that spot is what I need worked the most! As long as I don’t pass out right when I get home, abs is on tonight’s menu.
Like I said, uneventful. Trainer K and I really had similar weeks last week, so we worked slow and talked about the pit of fire from hell that is burning in both of our lives right now.
One thing good did come happen today, my mom went ahead and booked and PAID for my hotel room when I go home for my sister’s wedding. WHOOHOO! She said she wanted to do it and it was a surprise for me. She had to tell me now since I was getting ready to book rooms.
Awesome! I am grateful she did it. Most of you know how much that really helps me out right now and she does too. So, a big ole’ thanks to mom!
OK all, time for me to hit the road soon. Taking son to an orientation at LearningRX and need to get packed up.

Almost at the 24 mark - WOW! That is all I can say. It seems to have taken forever to get here. There was one ay I didn’t think I would last past one or two sessions with a personal trainer, but I have held on and it is doing me good.
I have hit a little snag. Trainer K doesn’t want to see me plateau, so now off the the drug store to by a complete body cleanse. Oh, betcha really wanted to know that! She wants to make sure I clean out my system completely to get back on track.
I also have to start handing in my food journal every two weeks now and at that time she is going to through something into the loop to catch my body off guard. I mean I don’t eat the same stuff everyday. I try to always change it up just so I keep my body guessing, which keeps it motivated. Apparently, something is just not working.
Not a problem. I’ll go with the flow.
I did a post this past week on Deep South Moms about how unhappy my flappy body is and the response was to get some Spanx! - Yea, WHOO HOO! Haha, Spanx undergarments are to slim and give support and the majority ruled on Wacoal bras as well. I have been forewarned, none of it is cheap, but completely well worth the cost. Guess it’s time for a shopping spree.
Oh, wait, I have to have money to buy it don’t I? Guess all that goes on the wish list.
OK, so on to the actual workout. The two easiest things today were jump roping for 5 minutes and the stair climber for 5 minutes. So, that about tells you how easy my workout was - I hate those two things. Between the sit-ups, back lifts, the squats with the bar, the chest lifts, it was ll about killing me day.
Thanks to Trainer K, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING feels like jello today.
All is well though. I didn’t pass out, cry, or whine like a baby, so good to go! Lived for another day of torture!

My body hurts. My thighs are wiggling like jello and my upper arms still resemble turkey necks. I’m needing a hot, HOT tub to soak right now. Anyone got the hot tub I can borrow?
I know why I put myself through this misery each week - skinny, blonde sister getting married in September - but nay, nay, I’m still younger
So, that is something to look forward too - AND - I still don’t have gray hair like her! How bout those apples!
So although I might have to work out to get my butt lifted, I can still revel in the fact that there are some things that have not creped up on me in my age. What has happened with my age, I feel every exercise completely in my body.
Trainer K was merciful on me today since I worked my back and abs on Tuesday. Basically, she didn’t kill me, just only slightly. We did a lot of arm work today and she threw in some oblique work for good measure. Actually the oblique work helped my back stretch out. Relief.
With free weights and my arms today, I started out with really light weights and as I go Trainer K moves me up weight depending on the ’struggle’ she sees. Well, on one exercise, I moved up two size weights but by the time I got to the last set, I was hurting and hating!
Then after all of the workout she has me do these arm rotation things - like that name for ‘em? No clue what they are, but they freaking hurt. I mean they look SIMPLE, but don’t let that fool you. It fooled me. What I hated, she had me do all that work on my arms and then made me do these. PSYCHO!
It was not nice, nor a pretty picture when I was finished and off to the shower. But, I got through it. I always do and then I turn here to bitch and complain
You guys just listen so well.

I know, I know, I slacked off big time last week posting on training - well pretty much anything for that matter. I was lazy, exhausted, and had been writing papers for school, so that kept me more than busy. Hopefully, I can do better this week!
Today, session 21, and I seem to still look like I did when we started. Everyone else seems to notice the weight loss and better tone. Everyone says something and yes, there are some days, when I take some nausea medication before looking at myself in the mirror - naked - that I can see the results, finally!
I am surprised I have stuck with it as long as I have, but boy, it has been a struggle some days - like today!
Today is the day I will never forget - Trainer K got me to run. OMG. Yes. Run. Um, can I say that running should be added to my Top 10 List of Things I Hate To Do. I’m going to need to update that list! I had to run in, short sprints, but it still was running. I had to do 3 sets and that was that. I survived.
So, running and sit ups on the bench - my two new best friends. I love’ em. Don’t ya love’ em?
So, after running, I will tell on myself, I did one of the dumbest things I could ever do in a crowded gym - not that! I had to do a jumping jack onto a step then into a squat. Well, come one people, not like I am extremely tall. I might be right at 5′2.
So, I am into some of the jacks and I am fatigued, my body just doesn’t feel it can clear another jump on the step and guess what? It didn’t. I went to jump on the step and SPLAT! Tripped on the step and went straight down on my face. I was stunned at first cause it hurt like a M-F-, but I had to laugh. What else was there to do?
So, humiliated but laughing, hurt face but thankfully not bleeding, I got up told my trainer bye bye, and left. That was the end of this session. There was just no way to carry on after that. So, the point to this - short people, like ding-dong-me, need not add a step.

So, I didn’t share with you how my Tuesday training day went. I left training and then had to spend all day on my account at their site, so I was busy, busy, busy all week. Today, my 11th training session, and it was all cardio - YUCK.
Trainer K made me walk the treadmill for 5 minutes to get my legs warmed up and then on to the elliptical. OMG, I have told you guys before, I am not elliptical material. I honestly burn so bad on that machine within the first 3 minutes that I honestly can’t move my legs anymore. My feet hurt and my toes cramp. Yea, I’m a wimp.
Finally within about 5 minutes she took me off because I couldn’t stand it anymore and put me back on the treadmill. With steep elevation and going about 5 miles per hour, I was running on the freaking treadmill. OK, I haven’t run in, well, over 12 years. Yep, 12 years is about right - military - yep that was it. I looked like an idiot!
For 20 minutes I was speed walking and running, speed walking and running and then after sweating my ass off, it was over just as fast as it started. No more work, now just hurting. I really like lunges now
I really like the sauna too! After 30 minutes in there, I was done and on my way home.
My legs still feel like jello. I have had to walk around every 20 minutes or so because my body tightens up, but I am feeling better now and I can look forward to kickboxing on Saturday. Fun, fun! OK, so that was easier to write out then to actually look forward to kickboxing, but hey kickboxing is rough, but my butt will be there!

I am surprised that I am not in a terrible amount of pain. I’m sore, but livable. Today, I worked on my legs and abs. Always abs of some sort. My trainer had me do the bike for ten minutes to warm up, then the dreaded step which killed my thighs last week, and then some balancing stretches to murder my poor calves. I am A-OK!
Hopefully since I am not feeling too sore today that means that my body is beginning to handle the change it is taking on. No, no physical changes that can be seen, but I am beginning to feel better. I seem to have more energy. I also seem to have a huge freaking appetite after working out.
So, I will be changing up my food plan, bigger breakfast before hand, so I am not so hungry after and want to eat house and home. Then I will modify my other smaller meals to help out.
One thing I have noticed is how weak my body is. Many of the muscles I am using haven’t ben exercised in forever. I can especially feel it in my arms/shoulders. When working on free weights, I push myself to the limit, but really struggle because I just can’t find that last humph to get over the hurdle. I know as I continue, soon it will be no problem. Right now it is frustrating.
That is it for today. Next training day 4 is on Thursday! See you then.
