Training day 23

May 28th, 2008 Brunette

Almost at the 24 mark - WOW! That is all I can say. It seems to have taken forever to get here. There was one ay I didn’t think I would last past one or two sessions with a personal trainer, but I have held on and it is doing me good.

I have hit a little snag. Trainer K doesn’t want to see me plateau, so now off the the drug store to by a complete body cleanse. Oh, betcha really wanted to know that! She wants to make sure I clean out my system completely to get back on track.

I also have to start handing in my food journal every two weeks now and at that time she is going to through something into the loop to catch my body off guard. I mean I don’t eat the same stuff everyday. I try to always change it up just so I keep my body guessing, which keeps it motivated. Apparently, something is just not working.

Not a problem. I’ll go  with the flow.

I did a post this past week on Deep South Moms about how unhappy my flappy body is and the response was to get some Spanx! - Yea, WHOO HOO! Haha, Spanx undergarments are to slim and give support and the majority ruled on Wacoal bras as well. I have been forewarned, none of it is cheap, but completely well worth the cost. Guess it’s time for a shopping spree.

Oh, wait, I have to have money to buy it don’t I? Guess all that goes on the wish list.

OK, so on to the actual workout. The two easiest things today were jump roping for 5 minutes and the stair climber for 5 minutes. So, that about tells you how easy my workout was - I hate those two things. Between the sit-ups, back lifts, the squats with the bar, the chest lifts, it was ll about killing me day.

Thanks to Trainer K, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING feels like jello today.

All is well though. I didn’t pass out, cry, or whine like a baby, so good to go! Lived for another day of torture!

Training Day 22

May 23rd, 2008 Brunette

My body hurts. My thighs are wiggling like jello and my upper arms still resemble turkey necks. I’m needing a hot, HOT tub to soak right now. Anyone got the hot tub I can borrow?

I know why I put myself through this misery each week - skinny, blonde sister getting married in September - but nay, nay, I’m still younger :) So, that is something to look forward too - AND - I still don’t have gray hair like her! How bout those apples!

So although I might have to work out to get my butt lifted, I can still revel in the fact that there are some things that have not creped up on me in my age. What has happened with my age, I feel every exercise completely in my body.

Trainer K was merciful on me today since I worked my back and abs on Tuesday. Basically, she didn’t kill me, just only slightly. We did a lot of arm work today and she threw in some oblique work for good measure. Actually the oblique work helped my back stretch out. Relief.

With free weights and my arms today, I started out with really light weights and as I go Trainer K moves me up weight depending on the ’struggle’ she sees. Well, on one exercise, I moved up two size weights but by the time I got to the last set, I was hurting and hating!

Then after all of the workout she has me do these arm rotation things - like that name for ‘em? No clue what they are, but they freaking hurt. I mean they look SIMPLE, but don’t let that fool you. It fooled me. What I hated, she had me do all that work on my arms and then made me do these. PSYCHO!

It was not nice, nor a pretty picture when I was finished and off to the shower. But, I got through it. I always do and then I turn here to bitch and complain :) You guys just listen so well.

training day 18

May 6th, 2008 Brunette

(I missed my post for day 17, oh well)

Oh yea, a weekend off to recover and back at it again today. I was also given a special gift from Trainer K today. Nothing fancy, just the reassurance that sit-ups will be my best friend, for every session, from now on!

Aren’t you jumping up and down for me? WHOO HOO! I am so excited knowing that I can’t freaking do ONE sit-up, but they will become my best friend! I’m crying, I am so happy about it.

OK, OK, sarcasm it me hard today when I was told that. I don’t hate it, but I hate it. So, from now on the end of every session will be conquering sit-ups, on a bench, inclined. That is my life from now on in training, but I will be there struggling my ass off to get them done.

Today’s session really wasn’t that bad until I got to the sit-ups. Lots of back work and lower core work, starting to really increase the strength in my core to help lose the belly that still is there, but sliming down.

Overall, I worked hard and sweated my butt off and feel like I did a hell of a job today. Around a hundred more of those sessions and I should be good to go! Everyone says they can really see a change. I have yet to see any physical change in me, but I don’t mine not noticing. I am getting healthier.

Trainer K wants me to try a Plyo class. WTF? Yea, I said that too, but Plyo explained to me is basically cardio in large movements. Well, that is the best explanation you are getting from me. I know some of Plyo has been strategically worked into my training, but could I tell you what I have done. No. So, if I get a chance, I guess I will try me out a class.

Training Day 4

March 13th, 2008 Brunette

Well I definitely know that I worked out! I am a little sore, a bit on fire, but not bad. When I first started I was in pain, but my body really hadn’t used any muscles for working out in a long time. I am still sore, so I can tell it is working, but it is no longer painful.

We concentrated on arms and shoulders today, some on my legs, and ending with ab work. I am getting through the arm work, but really struggling on the 3rd sets. Suppose too. Once I got into shoulders, I could really feel my weakness again. My shoulders and into my upper back are just wimp parts of my body. Eventually I will get it.

There are still some exercises that I need to work on to help strengthen my balance. I catch myself on some because I am wobbling. The worse so far, working my calves on the step. I wanna scream! Usually do once my body starts to burn, but everyone in there is pushing themselves, so they could care less.

Saturday is kickboxing. I plant o go as long as the rain holds off long enough for me to drive there and back. I hate driving in the rain because where I live, if the road is wet, they have no clue what to do. Should be a fun adventure.
