All work and no play makes for a cranky Brunette!
It’s been almost a month - well it has been a month since I was busy writing all the time here at The Brunette Blog. What happened? Work is what happened! Don’t get me wrong, I might bitch and moan about my job, but I do honestly love it. Yes, it can be stressful, but I take the stress knowing that I have perks that many moms would love and don’t have.
I set my own hours. If I need to leave, I leave. I can work from home if I have a sick child and actually once or twice a week I work from home regardless because I can. Flexible? Extremely. The only downfall with my position is that it runs in cycles. There is no basic hum of work. I can be slammed with a project today and have to work until midnight for the next two weeks to get it finished. Or I can be BORED to death with nothing to do because everything is humming along just fine.
Which brings me to why I am explaining my boring-ass job to you - this past month has been project after project. Working until midnight. Eating up my weekends with work. That when I do get up in the AM, when I normally would post here, I am lucky if I can find the shower and get to work. I have been moving in slow-mo. Heck, my kids are moving faster than I am. Thankfully - hopefully - it is done for a while after this upcoming weekend.
This weekend I am off to Dallas - to work. I have to set-up displays for my account so that the following week they can have meetings to introduce tons of new products. I leave Friday AM and have to drive down because of the tons of crap I need to take. Good point? I can have a few glasses of wine - or more - in quiet
Oooo… might read a book too!
So… now on to normal broadcasting here - again!

Yes, it has been quiet around here simply because I had to take some time off. Not my choice - more like my day job made the choice for me. After the big week I had at two of my other blogs in the beginning of August my day job kicked into gear and took off. Unfortunately, I couldn’t wave bye to it as it flew away, I had to go along for the ride.
Here I am a few weeks later, a few pounds lighter, and definitely not sporting the hangover that I should be for the past few weeks! If you have no clue what I do, it’s not glamorous like I would like it to be, but I am basically a gopher for the account I work on. I once worked for the W*itch, but now I am just her bitch.
The grass is much greener on the other side. Better hours… um, not that one lately. It is nicer working outside the brick walls, I actually have a family life. Damn, haven’t had that this week either. OK, scratch it all. It is nicer, just not this month. Check back when a new season is not under way. Well, WTF, that is all the time too!
Today, tomorrow, and maybe even Friday, I won’t have to worry about. Since I have been working non-stop for two weeks, including my night and weekends, I am taking some much needed time off from textiles and the W*itch and won’t be back to work next Tuesday. In the famous words of London Tipton, “Yeah Me!”

Sorry for being MIA the past week or so. I have been a little overwhelmed with family, work, and school. What idiot thought I could go back to school? Oh, that idiot would be me. What was I thinking!?
I am taking two classes this next session and it is my last two before earning my degree. I am exhausted. There have been MANY sleepless nights to get to here. I am so thankful for true, honest Universities and their on-line programs.
One class is an advertising class the other is group dynamics. Boy, did I pick the two wrong classes to do together. Both classes are very report/essay/paper driven and both classes are group oriented, so tons of research, tons of IM chats and meetings, and many, MANY late nights.
I am use to staying up until at least 1 AM every night. My evenings are for my family and once my kids are in bed and I have attempted some laundry, dishes, cleaning, and any work that I have had to bring home, I do my school work. The last week though, I have been up until at least 2 or 3 AM. That doesn’t include nights when family disasters happen or I have a sick kiddo.
So, needless to say, I am thankful for school to be over. I will take a break after these classes are done, hopefully a few weeks to catch up on some much needed sleep, then I will start my journey for my Masters in Leadership. Again, what am I thinking?
